Baltic Amber Facts

Amber is a fossilized tree resin that has taken millions of years to form.

Baltic Amber is 35 to 50 million years old.

Baltic amber has 200 colour variations. Colours range from yellow, to very light yellow,

to orange and dark yellow, all the way to brown. Blue, black and white variations exist,

but are rare.

Amber is organic in origin, it’s not a stone, not a semi-precious stone, neither it is a mineral.

It’s not a crystalline as it does not have a regular molecular structure.

Amber has the lightest weight & is the softest of all gems.

Amber burns as it consist of various organic substances:  Approx. 80% carbon,

10% hydrogen and 10% oxygen.
